Below is a chart showing the postoperative vision of 1500 of our LASIK/PRK patients over the last year, separated by the amount of correction needed. These outcomes were taken at the patients’ three month checkups, and they include patients with up to -3.00 diopters of astigmatism. (This does not reflect every patient who had surgery at Hoopes Vision within the last year, but contains all patients who met the criteria: LASIK or PRK; up to -3.00 diopters of astigmatism; came to Hoopes Vision for the three month post-operative checkup.)

(For example, a severely nearsighted person with a prescription of -7.50, with -2.00 astigmatism, would be 100% likely to be seeing 20/25 or better, and 96.8% likely to be at 20/20 or better.)

How good are these results? 20/40 is the required visual acuity to drive without corrective lenses. 20/20 is technically “perfect vision,” but in fact the average person who sees well enough to never need glasses or contacts is between 20/25 and 20/30.

Our confidence in LASIK has always been based on the overwhelming evidence we see in our clinic every day, in the form of thousands of happy patients. We back up our laser surgery with Utah’s first See Clearly Guarantee – an assurance of great vision not only now, but in the years to come. In sharing these postoperative results with the public, we hope to let you in on what we’ve known for years – LASIK is amazing!
